Kochi Marriott Hotel, Kerala Review

I recently took a short weekend getaway to Kerala and stayed at Kochi Marriott Hotel. Given that i’ve been to cochin already and not much of places to explore, i decided to watch some movies in Lulu mall and so the idea of staying at Kochi Marriott came. Here’s the review of this amazing hotel.

Location

Kochi Marriott hotel is located behind the Lulu mall (largest shopping mall in India) that shares the same compound and has a separate entrance to get into the hotel.

Booking

  • Revenue rate: ~8500 INR
  • I Paid: 12,500 Marriott Points

That’s definitely a decent value for the points especially because my stay included breakfast & executive lounge access.

Lobby & Checkin

The lobby was big with some sofas spread on the right and some airplane design on the left. In the evening you could see guys playing some music. It’s a lively place to be.

Check-in was quick and I was welcomed with a drink. I requested for an upgrade with lounge access and the same was granted (thanks to Gold Elite status) with the room being located in the same floor as the lounge.

The Room

The upgraded room looks good but it wasn’t big enough to call it an upgrade as I didn’t feel it spacious. Yet, it felt quite premium. Here are some of the snaps,

View from the room – Beautiful Kerala style houses

Executive Lounge

This lounge is probably the biggest lounge I’ve ever seen within India. You get lots of couches, a separate business area just incase if you want to use the computers and take some print outs. And then there is a huge dining area that’s bigger than most restaurants you would come across.

The lounge serves snacks and some cold drinks all though the day. You may expect grand food spread for evening snacks. This is typically a dinner buffet with starters, main course, fruits, juices, desserts.

Food

As lounge food is usually limited, I decided to go to the restaurant for breakfast. They indeed had a great variety of food options but at the same time the crowd was also high.

I would rather choose to checkout the lounge for breakfast next time.

That aside, in-room dining service was quite good too. Here’s a quick look into the mouthwatering pizza I had.

Buggy Service

If you want to explore the Lulu mall, the hotel has a complimentary buggy service to take you to the mall, which is hardly ~400 meters away. Buggy was in charge during our visit so they sent Innova instead during my stay
